Trade Agreements
Selid Din has Trade agreements with
the following Cities:
These agreements are blessed by Marduke and the Theocracy with all proper rituals. There are roads built to selid-Don for the purpose of trade. Each had been organized by the regent personally at the highest level.
Exports
As a general fledgling economy, Selid-Dins
greatest export is primarily wood. It has a variety of specialty woods as well
as plain old oak, ash, pine and maple. The wood exports occur in two ways. Speciality woods are grown within the forests in designated
areas and chopped down and physically exported via the river or overland. This
is to insure a healthy economy within the city as their needs to be support
services, housing and other basic needs the city can supply to thrive. It is a
living city.
The second export is in the form of forests. The
city can export forests themselves...with druids actually growing forests and
overgrowth via the Plant Growth spell at the locations desired by the customers.
This does two things...insures the virgin forests are untouched by the growing
need and that Selid_din has a steady cash flow.
It also creates good will amongst the genral
population. In addition to this...the druidic Plant Growth spell can increase
food production by 1/3 per season and covers a 2 mile area per casting. This
version is also used to help increase goodwill as needed.
Bardic & Ranger Training
Selid-Din is a center for learning in
that druids train rangers and bards in the Druids Grove section of the city.
Thus there is a steady flow of learned people.

Items
Just about all of these types of items for sale in Oerth come from Selid-Din.
The advent of the new population of mushroom people has enabled for the mass farming of huge amounts of mushrooms. This makes this delicacy
David McBride’s father and entire family have moved here from Greyhawk. They have setup shop and produced textiles and finished goods. They have about 100 workers and do a quick business.
See below description. Enochs toys are wanted across the civilized world...wherever their are children.
Along the boulevard, businesses open since the break of day, serve
food, drink or offer places to rest. No building is taller than the trees
around it, so the city is green and vibrant. Along the way, stone cairns direct the
traveler towards the important city locations. The open air market lies off a
side street close to the docks, providing the fresh foodstuffs and goods.
Further along the
Turing on to the Boulevard of the Regent, the eastern path leads to the
east gate and the forest proper. Following the boulevard of the Regent leads to
regency hill, the keep of the regent, the gryphon aviary and the Regent’s
garden. Regency hill rises above the trees and has a commanding view of the
river, east gate, and the city proper.
To the east towards the east gate lies the Guild houses,
especially the Guild of pathfinders, the outdoor auditorium and theatre, and
finally Office of the High Marshall. Elven and human
playwrights vie to bring entertainment to the lively city. At night swarms of
fireflies leave their homes to shine the way along the quiet streets. Only the
faintest glimmer of melodies is barely audible through the canopy of trees that
separates the Esplanade, a walk along the river, just above the docks that is
the festive area of the city. Home to inns and merrymaking, it is under the
watchful eye of the city guard.
To the northeast, lies the garden of the first citizen, the majority of
park like area is open for all to enjoy save a portion along the wall. Here it
is said, the first citizen stays when he visits the city, amongst the fountains
and pools and trees of the private little garden. It is said he sits on a small
mound overlooking a pond.
The
"Trinket Carts" are very common here and throughout the city. They sell snacks, beverages and small gifts or items. All these items tend to be worthless but are "cute". Anyone seeing a trinket cart must make a DC5 Will Save or must stop to spend 1GP per level of person (citizens eventually become immune). This money is spent buying junk the buyer will eventually throw away, place on a shelf as a knick knack or give away as a token gift. Any food or beverages are snacks and do not count as a meal. As a recent addition, foodstuff such as “Devils Food Cake” (no nutrition, makes lethargic but delicious) and Coffee’s (addictive, grants minor benefits) are now available due to the Dark Ones influences.
This simple shop is run by Mark Willsmith (Expert 2st level -
Merchant skill +10 Neutral) who
has been hired by Vlad to run his shop. The shop is a
30x20 room with a large table and hearth with a fire always lit. Marks room is
in the back. There are several small (Everburning
Torches and minor trinkets) here for sale for the commoners. However, truly
wondrous items are negotiated.
Mark normally records any
request and the client’s commensurate offer of payment. The offer must be
signed. He then presents this to Vlad as soon as he
is able. Vlad normally scries the individuals to size them up. If Vlad is
interested, he will then arrange, through Mark, a time to meet.
Bob Brown ( Expert 10th lvl HP: 35 Craft-
Construction +18 Ring of Telekinesis 18th lvl) is the
owner of this construction company. Bob was instrumental in the building of the
city and an expert at his craft. Bob has over 300 workers available on retainer
as needed and can double this number for big jobs in 6 months time. Bob
normally charges 120% of cost but is readily available.
This creepy looking shop is obviously magical in nature and has many weird and wonderful items. Minor potions, items and thus (no more than 5000xp value) are available in small numbers as well as spell components (very cheap prices!).
* Agatha is a minor sorceress ( Sor-7th HP 18 Align: Neutral Good Age: 99 (Rel Mordian) Int 17 Ch 22 via a Forceful Personality) and blind. She has a glass eye that she uses to see through that is non-magical but a compoenet for a sight spell. She keeps a low profile because people believe her to be a witch. Selid-Din is a more open city so she moved here from Rel Mord.
Agatha has a evil plant that she
discovered on her way here. It is a “Lodian Fern”that has worms of anti-druidcy
in the soil and is under a Mind Blank. It has telepathy and returns conversations when spoken to…this plant has no defense
other than its unobtrusiveness. This fern passes information that its master
feeds it. Its master is a evil Florist in Lod named Buggy. The information is normally items that are
for sale from Lod. They are all evil in nature and
secretive when delivered. It will also feed evil secrets about her clients to
drive them to evil. She thinks she is helping them and has no idea what the
plant is doing.
This wonderful toy store is run by Master Enoch. It is famous throughout
Oerth as is Enoch for his toys. Enoch is a Mage from a

Fellowship of the Griffon and Enoch has moved in to Selid-Din
as a favor to the Fellowship.

psychic manipulations by the illithid. However, he is
totally immune to all psychic influences or psionics

A large shop stretches around 125. The center of this building is actually animal pens for the "Meat Block" as it is called. The sounds of animals being butchered does disquiet some of the citizens and thus a permanent "Silence" and "WindWall" (for scent) has been cast in the center of the block.
