Proclamation
of Order
In the cause of public
harmony and the greater good for all Citizens of Selid-Din, the Regent and the
Peacekeepers of Selid-Din will create and establish an area of peace within the
city proper and Forest proper.
So that no lawbreakers and
darkfirends misinterpet the Regents desire for peace with weakness…the
following will be procedure for all police actions
- Police
forces will assume suspects guilt until proven innocent
- Police
shall have the right to detain suspects for 48hrs before showing cause
before a magistrate. Should this cause civil damages, a Citizen may seek
remedy in a Court of Law.
- No
Citizen nor visitor has any expectation of privacy within the city limits.
All goods or persons or areas may be searched without hinderance. The Regent
and his forces shall be searched at a proclaimation by a Greater Magistrate.
This right of the Police shall not be abused and a order of stay may be
issued by the First Citizen until cause may be shown. The First Citizen,
proven innocent under the Dome of Truth, is immune to this policy.
- Public
display of magic shall invoke police inquiry
- All
weapons shall be peace tied within city limits (adds +1 rd to draw)
- No
missle weapons (bows/crossbows) within city limits without a permit.
Citizens, wearing a city symbol, may carry these weapons without a permit
within the city walls.
- All
evil items shall be registered with the Regents office
- No
Police force shall hinder a Inquisitor of the Church of Shammash nor a
Shield Knight unless he is prepared to show cause before the Regent
- Respect
for station shall be maintained. However, those whose natural bent (ie
sylvan folk) is beyond the scope of civilized behavior shall be given
greater leniency.
- Once
engaged, Police forces shall be enabled to use deadly force. They may be
required to show cause before the Regent.
- Abuse
of Police powers for personal gain shall be punished severly. Knights shall
be thrown from the Order and Marshalls shall be at a minimum stripped of
citizenship and banished.
